Pond Model Factory Tutorial

Pond is revolutionizing the Web3 AI development process, leveraging this data to build open AI models that empower everyone to participate in creating the next generation of blockchain AI models.

Pond’s decentralized AI development process revolves around four key stages:

  • Propose Idea
  • Community Vote
  • Launch Competition
  • Model Commercialization

The process is driven collaboratively by the community. The following sections will detail each step in this process.

Community users can submit their ideas for building AI based on on-chain data on the AI Model Ideas page. When your idea gains sufficient community votes and recognition, Pond will help turn it into a competition topic. After completing tasks like data collection, processing, and annotation, the idea will be presented to all users in the form of an official competition.

First, you need to open the Pond Ideas page: https://cryptopond.xyz/competitions/idea and click the “New Idea” button to create an idea.

Next, fill out the form with detailed information about your idea as required. You can choose to edit and submit it in either the “simple version” or the “full version” format. Once editing is complete, click the “Save” button in the bottom right corner to submit.

After submission, you will be able to see the idea you just submitted on the AI Model Ideas page. If you have new thoughts or need to modify the content you just submitted, you can click on the corresponding idea card to make changes.

On the opened page, click “Edit Idea” to modify your idea. If you notice that no one has engaged with your idea yet, you can click “Discussion” and then “New Topic” to add more discussions, providing additional thoughts and content related to the competition topic.

In the discussion section, you can provide additional content, ideas, or even reference links and papers. Once you’ve finished editing your content, click the “Publish Topic” button in the bottom-right corner to post your discussion.

We can see that the discussion we just posted has been added to this page. You can now click on the discussion to add more content to it.

We have added some supplementary information in the comment section, or if other community users have initiated a discussion, you can join in to exchange ideas and participate in the conversation here. Then, click the “Post Comment” button in the lower-right corner to submit your reply.

Now we have completed creating an idea, the next step is to vote on the idea we just created. It’s important to note that each user has only three precious voting opportunities per month. The idea that receives the most votes during the current voting cycle will enter the incubation process, preparing for its transformation into a competition.

Pond uses prize incentives and competition formats to attract researchers from around the world to participate in the development and research of decentralized AI models. Ultimately, the winning models from the competition will serve the community on Pond’s model platform.

Now, let’s assume that our idea has won in the previous round of community voting. After careful preparation by the Pond team, the competition topic is ready to be presented to the community as scheduled. We click on the card marked in the image to view the competition topic that has been incubated from the idea we proposed.

We can see the detailed description of the competition topic on this page. We need to pay special attention to the description of the topic, the data composition, the evaluation criteria, and the requirements for submitting files.

On the datasets page, you can download the relevant data for the competition topics by clicking “Download.” Additionally, some competition topics provide extra documentation explaining the data fields. You can click “View Dictionary” to access further explanatory documents. Now, you can begin processing the data and developing your models.

Once your model development is complete, you can click “submit” to submit it and your score will appear on the “leaderboard.”. It is important to emphasize that the submitted file must strictly adhere to the submission requirements. If the submitted file does not meet the requirements, your model’s score cannot be evaluated correctly.

If you remain at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the competition, your model may be further listed on the Pond Model Platform and deployed to the production environment to serve the community through Pond's inferencing network and real-time data infrastructure. In addition to receiving a prize or other incentives, you will also be entitled to a share of the ongoing model revenue.

At the same time, all your interactions on the Pond platform will be recorded in the Pond Points system, which will serve as a reference for future incentive plan. You can view your current points and the tasks you have completed or are eligible to complete on the Points page.

Enjoy building on Pond!
